Erik Rees needed some promotional shots for the cover of his new book Only You Can Be You! I set-up a simple white backdrop outside in the shade and lit the image with one strobe. This isn’t the image we used on the book but it is one of my favorites from the set.
I was hiking in the hills near Ladera Ranch one morning and came across these wild daisies. Their deep yellow was framed by the rich blue of the morning sky.

This image was made from a paddle out for my wife’s cousin, Tim Dowell. He died unexpectedly in his early 20′s of unknown causes. His buddies onshore are about to paddle out to join the group.
